Anette Sorensen, M.Ed., BCBA
Anette Sorensen has been working with children with disabilities, with an emphasis on autism, since 2002. Her career began at the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club where she was an Assistant Preschool Teacher and Music Teacher. She worked as an ABA Therapist and Paraeducator in various schools in the Bellevue school district as well as a privately practicing ABA Therapist for several years before pursuing a Master's in Early Childhood Special Education from the University or Washington. During her studies at the University of Washington, Anette was the Director of the Extended Day Program at Wilson Pacific, Developmental Preschool. This experience shaped Anette's deep commitment to private-public collaboration and the positive effect that a cohesive and positive team approach provides. After receiving her Master's degree and teaching certification, Anette worked at the University of Washington Autism Center from 2003-2010 as an Autism Consultant, earning the title of Lead Autism Consultant in 2007-2010. In 2004, Anette became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Anette is a member of the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts (APBA) and the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI). Anette is an accomplished speaker, trainer, and interventionist with extensive experience in school, home, and clinic settings.
In 2010 Anette opened Seattle Autism Consulting, a company dedicated to supporting children with autism and other disabilities lead lives rich in positive experiences, meaning, independence, and joy. As the Director of Seattle Autism Consulting, Anette is proud to offer the community the product of a decade worth of her professional and educational experience, honed expertise, and deep commitment to top-quality educational and behavioral services.
